Rooted in Radiance
A solstice collection by Alicia Taylor Low

This collection invites you on a journey through change—beginning in rooted stillness, moving through moments of radiance, and arriving in the waters of remembrance, where healing begins for ourselves and others.

Each mosaic emerged from my own reckoning with what it means to grow, grieve, and rediscover the light within. Made with hand-cut stained glass, gemstones, and soulful treasures like beads and jewelry, these pieces do more than decorate a space—they carry story, energy, and transformation.

The collection unfolds in three movements:

🌱 Rootedness — where we listen, ground ourselves, and gather wisdom.

☀️ Radiance — where we rise into visibility and become who we’re meant to be..

🌊 Remembrance — where we meet grief, practice grace, and open to healing—within and in connection with others.

At the threshold stands Kali—fierce and steady—a guardian of release and transformation. The journey closes with Sunward, a quiet reach toward what’s next.

This is my offering for the Solstice: a moment to honor how we bloom, break, and begin again.

With love,
Alicia

Hand-cut stained glass mosaics inspired by nature, spirit, and personal stories.

🌱 Rootedness: Grounding Mosaic Art for Transformation

Grounding and protection through the earth’s wisdom.

The Listening Root

12″ diameter stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $339

At its heart, this piece holds a sacred space for deep listening—a quiet pause where the seen and unseen meet.
The journey began with a miniature ceramic mask I had kept for years—a small, soulful face waiting to be reborn through glass and light. This mask became the emotional center, silently witnessing the intertwining branches and flowing hair that rise like whispered prayers reaching beyond the surface. Below, roots plunge deep into shadowed earth, anchoring the mosaic in ancient cycles of growth and stillness.

The soulful findings are bits and pieces—little treasures that carry their own stories and energy, contributing to the tapestry of meaning woven into each mosaic.

Amethyst stones scattered among the roots offer calm and spiritual clarity, while silver and garnet earrings provide quiet sparks of strength and insight.

Creating this piece was a meditation—a delicate balance between fragility and resilience, movement and stillness. The play of light on stained glass and the texture of gemstones invite you to look closer, to listen deeply.

This mosaic is more than a visual experience; it’s an invitation to pause, connect, and honor the power of listening that grounds us all.

Embodied Earth

16″ x 20″ stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $725

She is woven into the earth and sky—a quiet bridge between the worlds we can see and those beyond sight.
Her head is crowned by a warm, golden sun halo, while her shoulders dissolve softly into the rolling hills behind her, blending her form with the landscape. Gentle foliage drapes her torso in a dress made of leaves.

Beneath the surface, her hips and thighs vanish into deep blue water that, from afar, take on the steady, timeless shape of rocky river boulders.

Faint red spots ripple softly in the water before her, subtle echoes of life’s endless cycles—release, renewal, and growth.

Her right hand rises in Apana Mudra, a gesture of cleansing and letting go, while her left hand points downward, grounding her firmly to the earth.

This piece is a meditation on belonging—an invitation to remember that we are all part of the world’s unfolding story.

Keeper of the Grove

12″ diameter stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $339

At its core, this mosaic is about quiet strength and the power of stillness.
She rests with closed eyes, surrounded by leaves, stones, and earth, blending softly into the grove around her. The greens and browns flow through her form like the natural patterns of the forest.

Around her, meaningful symbols appear—the sun and moon faces mark the passing of time. A copper Om medallion represents balance and spiritual harmony. Amethyst crystals catch the light like morning dew, adding a peaceful sparkle.

Small beads are scattered throughout, like gentle reminders of the unseen energy moving quietly through the grove.

This piece is a call to slow down, breathe, and notice the rhythms that keep us steady. It honors the simple but powerful act of watching, of holding space without rushing.

Keeper of the Grove invites you to find calm in that quiet presence and to trust the natural cycles of life.

Their light glows quietly from within—a calm, steady presence full of wisdom and growth.

A soft pink-red lotus rests gently over their heart, symbolizing love, compassion, and healing energy.

Inner Radiance celebrates the quiet power we all carry—the gentle light that grows stronger when we listen deeply and embrace our true selves, beyond labels or expectations.

REMEMBRANCE:

SOULFUL MOSAIC ART FOR GRIEF, MEMORY & HEALING

These pieces hold emotional depth—offering beauty, tenderness, and strength in the face of loss or transformation.

mother of the Waters

15″ x 20″ stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $850

She embodies the wild, untamed spirit of the sea—resilient, mysterious, and deeply powerful.
Inspired by West African mermaid traditions—where water spirits are revered as symbols of healing, transformation, and feminine power—she carries stories of survival, grief, and renewal woven through generations. Her flowing hair is crowned with a crystal tiara crafted from upcycled vintage jewelry, shining with reclaimed beauty and fierce femininity. Her earrings are made of shimmering abalone shells, catching the light like waves on the ocean’s surface. Her bra top is crafted from hand-painted coral, adding texture and vibrant life.

Creating this mosaic, I wanted to honor the depth and complexity of emotions held by water—the ebb and flow of grief, grace, and transformation. Mother of the Waters invites you to dive deep, embrace your own tides, and find resilience in the ever-changing currents of life.

Glass Tears

11×13 stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $429   By Alicia Taylor Low

Her sorrow holds a quiet power—a deep, radiant presence that invites you in.
With her eyes closed, she carries her pain inward, her tears catching the light like golden rain, telling stories of healing and release.

This mosaic is inspired by Golden Tears, a famous oil painting created by a female artist as an homage to Gustav Klimt’s richly decorative and golden style. I’ve woven gold throughout the piece to echo Klimt’s luminous textures and bring warmth and depth to the glass.

Subtle details—like the slight lift at the corner of her mouth—balance sorrow with a hint of hope, reminding us that even in vulnerability, strength shines through.

Glass Tears captures the delicate dance between pain and resilience, inviting you to embrace your own emotions fully and find wholeness in the process.

Held and Holding

14×18 stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $700
By Alicia Taylor Low

There is healing in being held.
And there is power in holding others, too.

This mosaic speaks to both. Two abstracted female figures form a circle—one upright, one mirrored below—each cradling and being cradled in return. Four arms extend from the central body in a gesture of offering and prayer, reaching upward and inward at once.

The palette blends earthy reds and deep plums with soft rose and gold. A red lotus rests at the center—a symbol of compassion, rebirth, and the fire at the heart of care. Amethyst and carnelian stones are scattered throughout, reinforcing themes of connection and grounded strength.

She reminds us: to be human is to hold and be held, again and again.

Framed stained glass mosaic titled Dancing Kali, created by artist Alicia Taylor Low. This 18x20 artwork features the Hindu goddess Kali in bold jewel tones, fiery reds, and black glass. A spiritual, symbolic piece representing transformation, sacred destruction, and feminine power. Part of the Rooted in Radiance Solstice collection.

Dancing Kali

18″ x 20″ stained glass mosaic on foam core backer | $700

She moves with fierce love and unshakable power—transforming what no longer serves.
Her crown shines with silver, moonstone, and garnet—each chosen for its meaning. Silver offers protection and clarity, moonstone connects to intuition and feminine cycles, and garnet grounds passionate strength. Together, they balance spiritual insight with earthly power.

Traditionally, Kali wears a skull necklace around her neck, symbolizing life, death, and rebirth—the eternal cycle of transformation. In this mosaic, the skulls rest lower near her pelvis, rooting this fierce energy in the body and daily life. It’s a reminder that transformation is not just a concept but a lived experience.

As a guardian of thresholds and change, Kali’s energy is perfectly aligned with the Solstice—a time to honor endings and beginnings, to release the old, and welcome the new. Dancing Kali invites us to stand strong at this sacred moment, embracing fierce love and courage as we step boldly into what comes next.
